SOLOLDN
Position Title: Personal Assistant
Location: Nottingham NG2
Hourly Rate: £12.45
Hours Per Week: Weekends/ bank
Vacancy Type: Permanent
Job Reference: SOLOLDN
ABOUT THE ROLE
I’m a bright 5-year-old girl who lives at home with my family. I was born with a rare metabolic condition, which means I need some extra help to stay safe, healthy and happy. I’m looking for someone kind, patient and gentle to join my small team of people who support me. The most important thing is that you take the time to get to know me, how I communicate, what makes me smile, and how I like my days to feel.
My needs are a little complex, and they include personal and medical care, as well as support with my respiratory needs during the night. But I’m also just a little girl who enjoys fun, comfort, and feeling safe. Your role will be to help me stay well, support my development, and make sure my days are positive and reassuring. You’ll have the chance to build a genuine connection with me and my family, working within our home in a respectful and supportive way. To help you feel confident, you’ll receive a full induction including shadow shifts, team introductions and a bespoke training programme tailored to my needs. All mandatory training is provided, along with ongoing specialist training each year. You won’t be expected to “just know” — we’ll support you every step of the way.
ABOUT YOU
You will need to be calm, caring and someone who can bring warmth and reassurance, especially when I’m not feeling my best. You’re flexible, friendly and happy to get involved in play and everyday routines. You’re not easily flustered and feel comfortable supporting a child with complex health needs, including overnight respiratory care. I need 1:1 waking night support to make sure I remain safe and well while I sleep, and daytime support when I’m not at school. If you’re someone who finds meaning in building trusting relationships and making a real difference to one child and her family, this could be the perfect role for you.
BENEFITS In return for your dedication, you’ll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:
- 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro-rata for part-time positions).
- Company pension scheme after 3 months’ service, subject to the scheme rules.
- Opportunity to join our Cash Back Health Plan, after successful completion of the probation period.
- Free training and development for all roles.
- Access to wellbeing and support tools.
- ‘Star of the Month’ rewards and ‘Long Service Awards’.
And so much more!
