Who We Are

Solo Support Services is an alternative to a domiciliary care agency and we provide a range of services for individuals who have a budget for care and support and require assistance to live independently at home. Support can be for personal care, household chores, mobility or more complex health related conditions and we work with you to find your own Personal Assistant (PA) or team of Personal Assistants (PAs) which can include family members. You will have flexible support allowing you to live safely and comfortably at home assisted by a team of people who you know and trust. Your PAs can also help you get out and about to pursue hobbies and interests, be with you on holiday or when visiting friends and family.

I have a degree in Communication Studies and worked in customer service and purchasing before joining my friend Nicola at Solo in 2012. My job is very varied, I work with colleagues at all levels, as well as clients and providers, so no two days are the same which makes it extremely enjoyable. I have two sport crazy sons who keep me busy outside of work and I also enjoy keeping fit: I have completed two marathons as well as several half marathons and am always looking for my next running challenge.

I grew up and was educated in South Africa, graduating with a B Nursing degree from the University of Witwatersrand. I enjoy reading around the topics of health and social care in both fiction and non-fiction books. I like socialising with my family and friends, and am interested in travel, particularly to the Greek Isles. I enjoy keeping fit, mentally and physically, attending the gym and am starting to learn the art of meditation.

Originally from the North-East, I moved to Nottingham in 2012 and started with Solo in the September. I am CIMA qualified and have over 15 years’ experience of working within Management Accounts. Ingrid Foster

Ingrid Foster

Payroll Manager

In 2013, my friend, Nicola Darby, asked me if I would be interested to take on a part-time payroll position. The timing was opportune for me and in January 2014 I took on the role of providing payroll support within the management of the Personal Health Budgets for individuals who had chosen self-directed support. The growth of Solo has been rapid and each year the payroll team expands so we can manage the increasing volume of payrolls which we administer for both Third Party and Direct Payment clients. What a journey I have been on with Solo and every year I continue to be delighted by its growth and the difference we make to the lives of our clients.
Mark Radcliffe

Mark Radcliffe

Client Services Manager - LD & Autism

I joined Solo Support Services in January 2023 having been the Lead PBS Practitioner in a specialist college for learning disabilities, autism and co-occurring conditions. I was instantly attracted to Solo's model of support focusing on giving back choice and control to the client, and moving far, far away from the old style of supporting clients with complex needs. My goal has and always will be to make a difference to the lives of those we support. I specialise in Learning Disabilities, Autism and Behaviours that Challenge and have over 10 years experience as a support worker, residential manager, PBS Practitioner and Behaviour Analyst. I have a BSc (Hons) In Autism and Developmental Psychology, MSc in Psychology and an MSc, with commendation in Applied Behaviour Analysis. Allied with a number of other qualifications and training in Advanced Counselling and Psychotherapies, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and other related behaviour management technologies I aim to continue to make a difference to those we support. If we are able to understand our clients needs and ensure our clients needs are being met then ultimately we are empowering the client to have more choice and control in their daily life, thus increasing their quality of life.

Regional Registered Manager

I began my journey with Solo in June 2017 as a Client Relations Manager. I had previously worked in traditional domiciliary care organisations and had begun to lose focus on why I had started my career in care. Being at Solo has reminded me that I am passionate about supporting people to achieve the best possible outcomes from their care and support. Solo allows individuals to have as much choice and control as possible and allows them to decide who they want to support them.

Originally from Poland I have worked in a variety of roles in the health care industry and in each of these roles, I have been committed to providing high-quality care and support to my clients and other staff members. I am client centred and believe that the best support comes from forming strong relationships with my clients and their families. I joined Solo in May 2022; the whole company is run in a way that ensures everyone is supported and valued. We work collaboratively to ensure all our clients are empowered to be at the centre of their own Care whilst ensuring exceptional standards. Outside of work I enjoy being active, watching football and going on different adventures with my partner.

Client Relations Manager

I started working in Health & Social care in 2004 and have worked in various management roles to Registered Manager. I’ve worked for corporate giants and smaller companies always searching for something which reflected my values of person-centred support. I began with Solo as a Client Relations Manager in February 2020 and have not looked back - Solo puts the Client in the driving seat and challenges traditional models of support giving individuals choice and realising a genuine person-centred approach when setting up their personalised budget package. Working for Solo is a breath of fresh air; staff in every department, Senior Managers and Directors all share the same passion and are approachable, friendly and helpful. When I’m not at work, my partner, two daughters and crazy dog keep me busy! I love animals, walking and being in the countryside, holidaying - especially in France – socialising with friends and family, reading and going to the cinema.

Client Relations Manager

I have worked in health and social care for many years and am passionate about the sector. I joined Solo in 2019 recognising that the approach to client support was very refreshing and reflected the way I wanted to work. Solo believes in person-centred care. Each CRM works with a client recognising them as an individual with very specific needs and aspirations, the employees (PAs) appointed are for an individual client and there is never a feeling that one size fits all, it is always about finding solutions and going the extra mile. We have a superb Head Office team ensuring clients and their teams get the quality service and support they deserve.

I have a Health and Social Care degree and an MA in Human Rights and International Relations. I started my career in Health and Social Care over seven years ago; my passion has always been in the health sector to make a difference in one's life. I started as a care worker and care coordinator in the traditional domiciliary care setting and worked my way up to a care manager. I joined Solo in January 2023, and instantly I could see this company was different from what I was accustomed to. Solo ensures that person-centred care is at the heart of everything they do. Solo allows their client to have choices and control their care. Outside of work, I enjoy baking and decorating cakes, and I have a young son that keeps me busy.
Russ Black

Client Relations Manager

I was excited to join Solo because of the unique way the company empowers its clients to be at the centre of their own care, as well as the company’s caring and compassionate ethos that mirrors that of my own. I started my career in Health and Social Care in 2005, working as a support worker in an older person’s residential care home. Throughout the years, I have enjoyed working in various roles across the sector, including as an Assistant Practitioner for the NHS, eventually working my way up to Registered Manager of a residential care home for adults with Learning Disabilities, before beginning as a Client Relations Manager at Solo Support Services in November 2023. In my own time enjoy keeping fit, regularly running and exploring the countryside on my bike and I love spending time with my young son.

Amanda Pitsch

Amanda Pitsch

Client Relations Manager

Prior to joining Solo in October 23, I have worked in traditional domiciliary services for over 25 years, starting my career as a care worker, supporting young adults, and more recently as a registered manager for adults and the elderly. In this time, I also gained my level 5 leadership award. I decided to move away from domiciliary services, and after observing Solo’s website, I was instantly drawn to them and keen to join when I learned how their unique model supports clients to manage their own care at home, in total contrast to traditional domiciliary models. I did think it was too good to be true, but quickly realised that anything is possible with a personal health budget, and it gives back full choice and control for people in every aspect of their support. My passion for care has been re-ignited thanks to Solo, everyone here shares the same values, and I look forward to a great future with the team. In my spare time I love long rural walks with my dog, music, socialising, reading, travelling and camping.
Emma Hinchcliffe

Everyone at Solo is passionate about making a change to people’s lives and working with such a supportive team is very rewarding. With a background in Criminology and a Master's degree in Psychology, my understanding of human behaviour has been a cornerstone. Sarah Bland

Client Relations Manager

I began my career in Health and Social Care in 2012 and during the past 9 years I have worked in various roles within both domiciliary and residential care settings. Throughout my career in care, it has always been very important to me that the individuals that I have supported have received high quality, person-centred care that empowers them to feel in control of the care and support that they receive. In 2021 I decided that the time was right for me to look for a new role within a company that shares my passion and in July 2021 I joined Solo as a Client Relations Manager. Solo provides individuals with a personalised service that enables them to have as much choice and control over their own care as possible to ensure the best possible outcomes and this is exactly what I believe a care provider should offer. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, walking in the countryside with our dog and visiting new places both in the UK and abroad.

I have always worked within Health and Social Care with either children or adults and I have developed a lot of knowledge over that time. I hold a Therapeutic Parenting degree and a level 5 in Leadership and Management. I strongly stand by the ethos that the person I am supporting is the one who knows the most about their life and what they need from me to support them. I have done lots of formal training, but I have learned the most from those I have supported in my various roles, because they are the experts. I have joined Solo as I feel their ethos aligns with my own, in that the clients should be supported to make decisions about their care. I joined Solo in December 2020, the second UK lockdown had just been announced and it was my job to come in and bring some joy to the Head Office Team. I will often be found participating in important team meetings, napping around the office, chasing and playing with my collection of toys. Admittedly you may also occasionally find my toys in the office bins, I will be honest, I do this intentionally as I know this will attract some attention from my colleagues. Outside of the office I enjoy long walks, paddling in large puddles and playing fetch. I dislike thunder, Alex the cat and anything that makes a beeping noise.
